OUR STORIES
From a rented house in Dhanbad, to an online bookstore
Venus Publication is born
Our story begins with a small publishing company, Venus Publication, run from a rented house in Dhanbad — publishing books for technical students across Bihar and Jharkhand.
Expanding beyond technical books
We expanded toward non-technical students, publishing Railway General Studies, General Science, and General Mathematics titles — all reliable, proofread by experienced teachers.
From a few copies to thousands
Our books weren't reaching students — we'd barely sell 200 copies. After every offline option failed, we listed our publication under a new seller account, “Booksindya”, on India's top book-selling website. A few copies a month at first — then twelve in a single week, then 500 the next month, then 1,000. Soon, offline bookstores were asking to stock us too.
A new vision: e-commerce
We realised no platform in India offered new and old books for every age group in one place, with no hidden charges. So we decided to shift our vision from a publishing house to an e-commerce bookstore.
A pause, not an end
The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to pause the Booksindya e-commerce project for two years — two years we spent learning and preparing for what came next.
Booksindya relaunches
With a new, dedicated team, we rebuilt Booksindya from the ground up — and this time, true to our promise, we launched a real e-commerce website for our loyal customers.
